Street Defense

Seminar Nov 21st

Top Defense & Fitness is offering a special seminar to our members, those who are following us and our friends first.
Jonathan Semetko and myself Rob Hunt are putting on a special seminar on the 21st of November 2020. At this seminar Jon and I will be covering Street Self-Defense Techniques, not Sport Martial Arts. We feel that it is a good time to offer a taste of something that works in real life situations where the “rules” may not apply, or may be different than normal.
There are requirements you MUST meet in order to be able to attend this seminar. You must be able to pass a background test, have a CC permit, or a letter from law enforcement vouching for you. You must also be an adult.
The seminar is 4 hours long and the cost is $100, there is a class size limit as well. So registration and payment will need to be taken in advance.
Please call or text (435) 265-4922 to register.
You can read about Jonathan and myself at TDFGym.com

Tests Coming Up!

Greetings,

We are coming up to our big tests in December! This is exciting and many members will be receiving a new belt or stripe!

For our Grapplers/Judo players, please watch the following video. It explains the 4 step process for promotion.

After watching the video, please note the following dates:

Saturday December 5th – Practical exam required for both gi and nogi students. You will assigned a time between 9:00-2:00pm to come and compete in 3 matches. This is something new we are trying. We are doing this because we usually compete in tournaments in the autumn, to help determine rank advancement, but this did not occur this year. We are using this as a substitute.

Saturday December 12th  – Technique exam, 12:00-2:00pm. Required for gi students. The State-level, Judo promotional board will be travelling up from SLC to join us. You will receive your belt and rank certificates at this event, if you pass the exam. Only folks in gi will be testing. However, any member of the Judo club may participate, even if not testing. We ask that anyone not directly participating, watch from home. We will livecast the event on Youtube for family and friends.

Monday December 14th – Nogi technical exam, 6:00-7:00 pm. Our students who do nogi will test. You will receive your new stripe/belt and rank certificates at this event, if you pass the exam.

Tuesday the 16th – Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do exam, 5:00-6:30 pm. This is for adults and youth who are advancing rank in Hapkido or Tae Kwon Do. You will receive your belt and rank certificates at this event, if you pass the exam. Please get $15.00 to Rob before the test.
